BICA

Building Industry Credit Association, established in 1903, discovered — after a long search for a new headquarters location — this particularly suitable, though declining, 2-story, 20,000 square foot, reflective glass building set in an office/retail park across from City Hall in Rancho Cucamonga, 40 miles from their longtime venue in downtown Los Angeles. To adapt and upgrade the space for BICA’s needs required totally gutting the 2nd floor. The result is a park-like outlook from new private offices, large open-office space and meeting rooms, as well as employee break facilities — on all sides of an ingenious triangular floor plan. The 10,000 square foot ground floor, a future expansion space, is being upgraded for tenants. Every interior aspect of the building was re-planned, and the surrounding open space, mature trees and parking area were refurbished. Numerous art works and installations reflecting the company’s history and services were installed to enliven the workspaces and enhance employee assurance.
